The Writing's on the Hat

In an attempt at trying to be a more keen observer, for me it was paying attention to the other end of a person, I realized it's not always about the shoes. Did I really just say that? hmmm....I think the moon was just in retrograde or something. Anyhow, as I payed attention to what was going on upstairs I found myself in an urban stylish word game. The word choices that were made and worn also fascinated me....although if I had to pick I would've went with DOPE as well :) JK

p.s. I was kidding it's still about the shoes

New York Fashion Week with Mara Hoffman

So I originally fell in love with Mara Hoffman through her insanely gorgeous, mind-blowing bikinis. Her collections never cease to amaze me. Prints,Prints, prints prints, her F-ing prints! Drawing inspiration from nature her prints reflect her worldly bohemian style that has me in a daze.....

Ajak Deng, Grace Bol, and Ataui Deng walked the show, I seriously DIE!

P.S. the Pamela Love rings that she accessorized with, i'm going to need!

New York Fashion Week with Diane Von Furstenberg

There are a few things to expect when going to a DVF show. As a photographer the first thing to expect is mayhem. DVF pulls a ton of press and everybody wants to cover this show, which comes at no surprise. I have stories for days of the happenings (fights, arguments, etc) in the press pit at a DVF show. In the end it's all worth it because once the lights fall, music starts, and that first model steps out we are all transported into the world of DVF. Layered prints walked rampant down her runway as did her notable wrap dresses in materials that will make any figure look amazing! Diane came out at the end to the tunes of the late great Whitney Houston's "I'm Every Woman." So fitting for a woman that has created a brand that appeals to just about every woman across the board.

P.S. I ♡ DVF and am in desperate need of that black wrap dress from this collection!

New York fashion week with Betsey Johnson

With news of Betsey Johnson having a show back at Lincoln Center after last seasons fiasco, I was thoroughly excited! Betsey is one of my favorites and it was a sad day for me when her shows took a dip out of the Center. I was anxious the entire day, anticipating what Betsey had in store for us. Rumors started circulating about workout videos and runway....I was confused and decided to wait and see for myself. Yoga mats, sneakers, and bottles of Champagne (Bestsey Bubbly) lined the runway, reminiscent of items lying around my house. The show started off with models walking down the runway chatting on their cell phones, kinda like me on any given day. Once all the models were lined up on the yoga mats, out comes Betsey to lead them in a full on workout. Not that any of these girls needed to be doing any of the sit-ups or push ups, c'mon they're models! Even though I watched the show in complete confusion, after the fact I realized her show was crazy and quirky, exactly what she is and why I love her. The show was a breath of fresh air, a break up of the monotonous typical runway scene, and from the looks of how much fun the models were having it seemed like the same breath of fresh air for them.

p.s. I may try that champagne bottle workout...lift & sip

Betsey Johnson Fall Winter 2013

Brooklyn Flea

Ah Sunday, the day of rest. My version of R&R this Sunday entails a few mimosas & the Brooklyn Flea. I prefer the summer version of the flea outside on the water, generally I think I just prefer NY in the summer. However, the winter flea in the old Williamsburgh Savings Bank version is pretty dope. I'm not sure what was better, the shopping or the people watching.......

P.S. Madly in love with the Leopard blinged out necklace I found!

New york fashion week with Jeremy Scott

Jeremy Scott is a must see show for me during New York Fashion Week. The main reason, besides that I adore Jeremy Scott, that I love going to his shows are the guests. His friends and fans come rocking his gear from seasons past and are toned down versions of Harajuku dwellers. Terry Richardson is a usual suspect at his shows,ASAP Rocky made an appearance, Lindsey Wixson walked the show. The collection was wild and crazy and I expected nothing less.

p.s. I ♡ Jeremy Scott

Vera Wang

You win some you lose some. You like some you LOVE some. It's been a long week of fashion, and I can't complain. With show after show they all start oddly blending together. Then you have the shows that stick out and remain ingrained on the brain. Vera Wang has consistently had this effect on me season after season. I left her show daydreaming about the tailored looks that kicked off the show, and the sparkling metallic brocade dresses that I considered the crescendo. Vera proved once again that she knows exactly what a woman wants.....well at least this woman.

p.s. I ♡ Vera Wang....in case that didn't come across :)

John Legend looks like he was enjoying it also
