Tropical Vibes, Puerto Escondido, Mexico
There are some places based on photos alone that beckon your name. When researching Puerto Escondido in the state of Oaxaca, the images that popped up had my name written all over them. A beach town with an infamous surf reputation drawing a bohemian crowd, I was intrigued.
Located on the Pacific coast, Puerto Escondido is about 45 minutes by plane or seven hours by car from Oaxaca City. Not wanting to waste any precious time, we opted for a flight. We chartered a Cessna and an expert pilot to whisk us over to the coast.
Carrizalillo Beach instantly caught my attention with its white sands and calm turquoise waters. We found the perfect spot to settle in: a stunning townhouse located on a cliff with views overlooking this gorgeous beach cove.
Morning meditations and yoga became part of our daily routine, as the beach was empty and serene in the early hours. The stairs leading down to the beach provided daily cardio and glute workouts. We sipped our morning coffee while watching the sun creep up over the ocean and spent the afternoons tanning with the locals.
Venturing out, we hopped on a scooter to explore other beaches and lounge the day away. Soaking up the sun and tropical vibes was more than just an activity; it became a way of life for us during this trip. Whether we were relaxing on the beach or exploring the town, every moment was infused with the easy-going spirit of Puerto Escondido.
As a self-proclaimed tropi-gal, it’s no surprise that Puerto Escondido was calling my name. With its sun-soaked beaches, vibrant culture, and laid-back vibe, it seemed like the perfect match for my tropical soul.
